Asian Paraxylene: Prices fall with upstream naphtha / Naphtha falls $33/mt on session / PX supply security concern for PTA producers

Asian paraxylene prices fell July 24, after rising through four consecutive trading days, tracking weaker naphtha. the Asian paraxylene CFR Taiwan/China and FOB Korea markers at $1,105/mt and $1,084/mt, respectively, July 24, both down $25/mt day over day. Upstream, the front-month ICE Brent futures contract rose 46 cents/b to $98.02/b compared to the previous trading session, while the naphtha C+F Japan marker $33/mt lower at $952.75/mt. Chinese futures markets closed lower from the previous close. The PTA2609 and PX2609 contracts listed on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange closed at Yuan 5,860/mt and Yuan 8,350/ mt, respectively, down Yuan 86/mt and Yuan 82/mt, respectively, day over day. In floating price discussions, an offer for a September-arrival cargo was heard at a premium of $44/mt against the September daily Mean of Taiwan/China (DMOPT)....
