ETHYLHEXANOL Asian spot 2-EH prices continued their uptrend in the week to Aug. 20, driven by tight supply and elevated feedstock costs. "The uptrend is mainly fueled by tight supply and high propylene costs, and we're going to raise our offer further later on to reflect the strength," said a Chinese 2-EH producer. In China, domestic operating rates were heard to edge up to about 65%-70% level. Some sources said they were concerned that this could create pressure on prices as demand remained slow. "Export markets are better received as we have made some deals in Southeast Asia and Turkey," said a Northeast Asia producer.
