Asian isomer mixed xylene prices were assessed at $999/mt FOB Korea on July 24, down $6/mt day over day, while the CFR Taiwan and CFR China markers closed at $1,021/mt and $1,004/mt respectively, tracking the FOB Korea marker. Crude oil futures edged down in midafternoon Asia trade July 24 after touching the milestone $100/barrel, as market participants consolidated their positions. At 3:06 pm Singapore time (0706 GMT), the ICE September Brent futures contract fell $1.69/barrel (1.68%) from the previous close to $99/b, while the NYMEX September light sweet crude contract fell $1.53/b (1.66%) from the previous close to $90.66/b. The isomer-MX market softened, tracking the retreat in crude oil.
