Asian Benzene: Prices weaken alongside downstream styrene market /Sinopec raises East China listed price by Yuan 150/mt / ENEOS Corp. settles ACP for Feb at $780/mt CFR Asia

Asian benzene $6/mt lower day over day at $772.67/mt FOB Korea Jan. 30, tracking the decline in the downstream styrene market. Upstream, the front-month ICE Brent futures contract rose 34 cents/b day over day to $69.71/b, while the naphtha C+F Japan marker 50 cents/mt higher over the at $596.50/mt. During the Market on Close assessment process, two trades were reported. PTT bought a March-loading FOB Korea cargo from Gunvor at $774/mt. Gunvor sold a March-loading FOB Korea cargo to GS Caltex at $774/mt. Downstream, the styrene CFR China marker erased gains from the previous sessions, declining $24/mt day over day to $985/mt Jan. 30. A Southeast Asia-based trader said that the weakening of prices could possibly be due to “funds exiting,” with about an “11% decline in March EB/Benzene futures.”...
