Asian ACN prices rose in the week to March 31, following upstream propylene values. CFR Far East Asia up $20/mt week over week at $1,740/mt on March 31 while CFR Southeast Asia was up $20/mt over the same period at $1,720/mt. Meanwhile, upstream propylene feedstock prices rose $40/mt week over week from March 24 to 31. Suppliers anticipate that the Far East Asia ACN supply will likely remain tight in the near term, given that South Korea's Tongsuh Petrochemical is extending the maintenance of its acrylonitrile plant, as well as strong downstream demand from the ABS sector.
