Asian phenol $40 per metric ton higher week over week at $1,165/mt CFR China on Oct. 13 and assessed the CFR Southeast Asia marker $40/mt higher over the same period at $1,235/mt. A Chinese trader said, "Phenol was negotiated and traded at around $1,200/mt in September. There are no new sources of goods available for discussion following the holiday." The same trader added that there would be more trades closer to the end of October. Ex-tank price discussions in the East China phenol market were last heard at 9,450-9,600 yuan/mt on Oct. 13, up 550 yuan/mt week over week.
