Asia OX: Prices jump on limited cargoes, firmer downstream / Sinopec raises OX price by Yuan 700/mt / India leads Chinese exports at 38% share in H1 2026

Asian orthoxylene prices climbed sharply in the week to July 24, supported by a broader rally across the aromatics complex and tight supply in Northeast Asia. During the trade session, bids for H2-August loading FOB Korea cargoes increased to $1260/mt, with no counteroffer heard in the market. One Asian producer indicated that higher premiums may be needed to attract spot volumes, with expectations that isomer-MX prices could extend their upward momentum. In China, the largest OX producer Sinopec has raised its OX listed price twice over the past week, increasing by Yuan 400/ metric ton July 19 and another Yuan 300/mt on July 23.
