Acetone CFR Vietnam offer heard at $580/mt / Thin activity expected to remain in short term

Asian phenol and acetone markets held steady week over week amid thin discussions and stable offer levels from sellers, market sources said. CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia phenol stable week over week at $750/mt and $810/mt, respectively, on Nov. 18. Prices also remained stable on the week in acetone markets, with Platts assessing the CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia markers at $525/mt and $600/mt, respectively. Discussions in the domestic China market remained relatively rangebound on the week for both phenol and acetone, with east China ex-tank discussions heard at Yuan 6,300/mt for phenol and Yuan 4,180-4,200/mt for acetone, compared to Yuan 6,250-6,300/mt and Yuan 4,200-4,220/mt, respectively, in the previous week.
