Acetic acid prices stabilize on softer demand / US-Iran ceasefire dampens AA buying sentiment / VAM surges near $2,000/mt on tight supply

Asian acetic acid prices were stable April 9 as buying sentiment softened after the US and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire, but Asian vinyl acetate monomer prices continued their upward momentum amid tight global supply and healthy demand. FOB China offers were lower in the week ended April 9 at $630/metric ton compared to $650/mt FOB China the week before. Discussions for prompt spot cargoes in Jiangsu, east China were steady week over week at Yuan 4,650-Yuan 4,750/mt ex-tank. FOB China acetic acid at $629/mt on April 9, down $21/mt week over week, while ex-tank east China prices were stable over the same period at Yuan 4,700/mt.
